Joel Doerfler

For 40 years I taught history at independent schools (Columbia Prep School, Riverdale Country School) in New York City. For most of that time I was history department chair, responsible for developing new curricula and mentoring new faculty. In addition to teaching a wide range of history courses, I also developed courses in literature and film. A native of NYC, my primary current residence is Dummerston, Vt. I did my undergraduate and graduate study at Brandeis and Columbia Universities.
