Support Committee

The Support Committee is tasked with supporting Osher Study Leaders in whatever capacity needed. Our number one goal is for you to succeed!

Ways We Support

Our first task is to walk you through the process of becoming an Osher at Dartmouth Study Leader—from the time you begin working on a course proposal to that first day of class on Zoom or face-to-face in an Osher’s Court Street classroom.

This site, PATH TO SUCCESS, lays out the steps that you will be taking on  your journey. By the time you get to this page, you will have proposed and designed the course and are now preparing to teach your course.

Shortly after all the proposals have been accepted, the support team reaches out to new study leaders with the following support:

  • Study Leader orientation (recording) or slide deck.
  • Mentoring - we find an experienced Study Leader to mentor you.
  • Tech training - we offer workshops in Google slides, Class Tips etc.
  • Troubleshooting - Reach out to the Office for support. They can help on MOST tech issues you have.
  • Class Monitor - a technology monitor partners with you in a Zoom class and helps with class management and technology.
  • Class Rep - A Class Representative (class rep) assists the Study Leader with an in-person course. Tasks include taking attendance each week, passing out name badges to new members, reminding participants to complete a feedback form online at the end of class, and contacting the office if any issues arise in the course.
