Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1: Overnight flight
Enjoy the natural splendor of this Portuguese archipelago and see why the Azores are
commonly referred to as "the Hawaii of Europe."
Days 2 - 5: Vila Gale Collection Ponta Delgada, Ponta Delgada, Azores
Begin on São Miquel, exploring Ponta Delgada. Enjoy the Portas de Cidade, Sete Cidades
caldera, tour a pineapple plantation, visit a father-son team of willow basket weavers,
explore a tea plantation, and enjoy a chance to spot dolphins!
Days 6, 7: Hotel do Canal, Horta
A walking tour of Horta, a visit to the Capelinhos Volcano Interpretation Centre,
and the relaxing surroundings of Faial Island welcome you over these two days.
Days 8 - 10: Torel Terra Brava, Terceira, Azores
Fly to Terceira and the UNESCO capital of Angra do Heroismo, where you'll learn about
the Holy Ghost Chapels. Swim in the natural volcanic pools of Biscoitos, and feel
the quiet stillness of Algar do Carvao, the "Cavern of Coal," an ancient lava tube.
Days 11, 12: Bessa Hotel Liberdade, Lisbon
Return to continental Europe via the capital of Lisbon. Visit Jeronimo's Monastery,
the National Coach Museum, and a free afternoon of exploration on your last night
of the tour before departing the Azores on Day 12.
