ITINERARY AT A GLANCE
Day 1: Overnight Flight
Travel to Scotland from Logan Airport in Boston via an overnight flight.
Day 2: Glasgow, Scotland
Start your trip to Scotland with free time to rest and explore. In the evening, gather as a group for the first time to visit the National Piping Centre for a demonstration. Conclude the evening with a group welcome dinner.
Day 3: Glasgow to Ballachulish
Travel to the second stop, Ballachulish, and enjoy a guided tour and tasting at a whisky distillery on the way. After lunch in a nearby town, you will continue onto Lock Linnhe, where you will be staying.
Day 4: Isle of Skye
Wake up in Ballachulish and head to the Isle of Skye for a day on the Misty Isle. Lots of time to explore before heading back to Ballachulish via the Skye Bridge and the "Road to the Isles."
Day 5: Ballashulish to Loch Ness to Thurso
Enjoy magical landscapes as you travel into the Highlands with spectacular views in the Great Glen. Stop by Urquhart Castle, and enjoy a cruise on Loch Ness. Will you spot Nessie? Spend the evening in the remote town of Thurso, the location for the next two nights.
Day 6: Orkney Island
Day trip to Orkney Island by ferry to see the former Viking stronghold. Sights for the day include the Skara Brahe, a Neolithic village, the Standing Stones of Stenness, and the town of Viking Kirkwall.
Day 7: Thurso to Inverness
Begin heading south and visit the Dunrobin Castle on the way to Inverness. For the afternoon there is a choice between visiting the Culloden Battlefield where the Jacobite Rising came to an end or visit the Inverness Castle on a self guided tour.
Day 8: Inverness to Pitlochry to Edinburgh
Start off your day with an adventure to a family farm and to see their sheepdogs at work, all while enjoying stunning views of Cairngorms National Park. In the afternoon, spend some free time in the Victorian town of Pitlochry, before heading to the capital city, Edinburgh, for the evening.
Day 9: Edinburgh
Visit Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Crown Jewels, and panoramic views on a walking tour of the castle. For the last evening of the tour, learn traditional Scottish cooking in one of Scotland's premier culinary institutes.
Day 10: Edinburgh to Boston, MA
End your trip by flying back to the U.S.
