Frank Gado
The first of his family to finish elementary school, Frank Gado is an autodidact whose
inquiring mind has survived assault from public education through a Duke doctorate.
During his last eight years in the classroom, he served as editor of the Union College
Press. Frank had two Fulbright stints at the University of Uppsala and was Chair of
the English Department at Union College (and Osher President Steve Tofel’s thesis
advisor!). Frank’s publications include The Passion of Ingmar Bergman and two books
featuring William Cullen Bryant. Residing in Hartford, VT, he currently works fitfully
on a study of Moby Dick.
