Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1:
Arrive in Bozeman, Montana.
Day 2:
Wake up in Bozeman and head out to explore Yellowstone, the Lower Loop, Grand Prismatic
Spring (one of the most photographed spots in the park), and Old Faithful. There will
be ample time to see the mountains, plains, cliffs, and of course, all of the wildlife!
End the day in Gardiner, MT.
Day 3:
Spend a second day in Yellowstone, this time through the Northern Loop. Stop at the
Mammoth Hot Springs and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Spend a second evening in
Gardiner.
Day 4:
Travel from Gardiner, through Paradise Valley, to the capital of Montana, Helena!
Helena is a city rich with gold mining history and known for its restaurants and trail
systems.
Day 5:
Enjoy a lovely locally guided train trolley tour of Helena, and then relax on a boat
tour at the Gates of the Mountains, following in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark.
Day 6:
Day 6 gives you two options to pick from: either heading to Great Falls, or seeing
the exhibits at the C.M. Russell Art Museum. Spend the night at St. Mary at the eastern
entry to Glacier National Park.
Day7:
Spend the day in Glacier aboard one of their 1930s vintage buses and travel along
Going-to-the-Sun-Road.
Day 8:
Listed as one of America's 25 prettiest towns, Whitefish, MT is the perfect place
to spend day 8 of your trip. Don't forget to try some huckleberry goodies, a true
Montana treat. For the afternoon, there are two options: white water rafting OR a
calmer float down the Flathead River.
Day 9:
Spend the day traveling along Flathead Lake, learn about the tribes that call the
land home, and stop at the Smokejumper Visitor Center to experience an Impact Moment
and learn about fighting fire in North America.
