Narain Batra

Narain D. Batra, PhD, is a columnist, author, and professor. He’s a scholar of the First Amendment. For more than three decades, he taught courses on freedom of speech, social media, media law, and ethics at Norwich University. Today, he is affiliated with Norwich University’s International and Diplomacy Program in the graduate college.
He is the author of several books, including The First Freedoms and America’s Culture of Innovation; Digital Freedom: How Much Can You Handle?; A Self-Renewing Society: The Role of Television and Communications Technology; The Hour of Television: Critical Approaches; and Effective Public Speaking. His most recent book is India In A New Key: Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi.
He publishes the podcast and newsletter AMERICA UNBOUND and the newsletter FREEDOM PUBLIC SQUARE. He is an avid golfer and practices yoga and meditation.
He’s a contributing columnist for Valley News, VTDigger, and The Statesman (India).
